Northern Queensland Primary Health Network

NQPHN - an independent, not-for-profit organisation funded by the Australian Government - engaged Page One PR to manage communications for its response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Page One PR acted as a key conduit and source of information for healthcare providers and the community throughout the initial COVID-19 response and subsequent vaccine rollout.

Successes included:

  • Launch of COVID-19 testing social media and digital marketing campaign, reaching more than 250,000 people

  • More than 110 e-newsletters sent to the local health sector

  • Dedicated web page for the COVID-19 response

  • 'Our Mob to Your Mob' Indigenous health campaign

  • Gained extensive media coverage focusing on key health messages

Thomas Baldwin Boutique Real Estate

Thomas Baldwin Boutique Real Estate engaged Page One PR to promote the fact they are Cairns' first paperless and shopfront-free real estate agency. 

This great story was picked up by a wide variety of local print, TV and radio media outlets, including:

  • The Cairns Post 

  • WIN News Cairns

  • Hit Far North Queensland.

Page One Public Relations managed the whole media process, from the initial face-to-face meeting with our client, to researching and writing the media release, and then ensuring positive media coverage.

Chalk Urban Art Festival

Page One PR was engaged to develop a pre- and post-event public relations strategy for an Australian chalk artist's trip to Italy for the world's oldest pavement art festival, along with a documentary of the trip. Overall, strong media coverage was gained throughout the PR campaign, across local, national, and international media. Page One PR generated this by using the simultaneous Olympic Games to provide a strong 'Going for Gold' hook for the chalk artist.

Media coverage included:

  • Homepage story on (average monthly audience of 10.4m), and coverage in major national metropolitan newspapers (e.g. Daily Telegraph and Courier-Mail)

  • Extensive radio coverage, with interviews on ABC Radio 702 Sydney (average audience of 58,000) and Radio Adelaide (88,000)

  • International press coverage in the Gazzetta di Mantova and La Voce di Mantova.


Marano's Fuel

Independently-owned FNQ-based fuel company Marano's Fuel engaged Page One PR to manage all of its communication activities relating to its fuel and oil service, as well as its 14 service stations across North Queensland.

This has included:

  • Development of new website (including writing copy, design, and maintenance) –

  • Coordination of media launches of 2 new service stations in Cairns

  • Management of all Marano's Fuel social media accounts (2,200% increase in social media following in just 12 months)

  • Coordination of all advertising for Marano's Fuel, including ad design and placement

  • Distribution of e-newsletters to Marano's Fuel customers and clients.

Community Enterprise Queensland

Far North Queensland remote store operator CEQ has engaged Page One PR to assist with its PR and communication activities, and to enhance its media coverage, promoting its many community initiatives.

Since being engaged by CEQ, Page One PR has:

  • Distributed more than 25 media releaases

  • Acted as spokesperson for media interviews

  • Gained 46 separate occasions of media coverage in a variety of local and national media outlets.


Sea Swift

Northern Australia marine transport provider Sea Swift - Australia's largest private shipping company - has engaged Page One PR to undertake its communication activities since 2012.

During this time, Page One PR has delivered:

  • Distribution of more than 100 media releases to media outlets across Australia, and internationally

  • More than 150 separate occasions of media coverage 

  • Development of new website (

  • Distribution of more than 30 e-newsletters

  • Delivered media launches of new services (e.g. new international service between WA-Singapore).

NT General Practice Education

Page One PR approached Northern Territory-based training organisation NTGPE with a campaign idea to help recruit more doctors to the Territory, and raise the profile of NTGPE.

The resultant Our Community, Our Health campaign was a huge success, including:

  • Stories written on 9 GP registrars and supervisors, including research, interview, writing and publication

  • Distribution of media release across the NT to key media contacts

  • Extensive media coverage of the campaign, including in the NT News.

Page One PR also assisted NTGPE by researching and writing a communication strategy for the organisation, including face-to-face liaison with key Executives and other staff.


Jamie Gosling Football Academy

Jamie Gosling Football Academy engaged Page One PR to help with the launch of its new junior soccer training business.

Page One PR helped assist with:

  • Development of all branding for JGFA, including logo and look and feel (e.g. typography and colours)

  • Establishment of brand new website - including content, design, form development/e-commerce, photography, hosting, and maintenance

  • Management of all JGFA social media accounts, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube

  • All media management for JGFA, with extensive coverage gained across local media on an ongoing basis for the academy, tournaments and key milestones.


Meals on Wheels

Page One PR has provided Cairns Meals on Wheels with pro-bono communication services since 2014 to help promote the services of this community-based, volunteer organisation.

Over the years, Page One PR has gained Cairns Meals on Wheels with a record amount of extensive media coverage, including:

  • more than 10 media releases distributed to recognise key events (e.g. 50th anniversary)

  • annual media coverage in the Cairns Post and on local TV channels

  • raising awareness of the need for more volunteers for the organisation.

Meals on Wheels have been very grateful for the extensive media coverage gained by Page One PR for the organisation.
