Northern Pride players will be on hand in Edmonton tomorrow morning (Saturday 12 December) to help celebrate the grand opening of Marano’s Fuel’s newest and largest service station, which will create up to 20 new jobs for local residents.
The Edmonton site will be the 14th Marano’s Fuel service station in Far North Queensland, and the independent and locally-owned company’s first in Cairns’ southern suburbs.
A free sausage sizzle community event will take place between 10am-12pm at their new servo on the Bruce Highway, located at the corner of Thomson Road (opposite the Hambledon Hotel and KFC).
The new service station features include:
sit-down cafe-style dining experience with 20-seat dining capacity
complete commercial kitchen and on-site chef
heavy vehicle access and trucker's shower
high-flow diesel and AdBlue at the bowser
newest and largest Marano’s Fuel servo at 250m² under cover.
Marano’s Fuel Chief Executive Officer Angelo Marano said the new Edmonton service station will not only cater for travellers and truckers, but will also be a convenient stop for Cairns residents, especially those living southside.
“We feel this is a great time for us to expand our service station operations into the southern Cairns market, and this event marks a significant milestone for our company,” said Mr Marano.
“We've got north and central covered with our city and northern beaches service stations, and now we're showing the love to everyone in the south.
“It will be the first servo on the left-hand side after leaving Cairns, so is perfect for locals to fill up as they're coming home from town. We’re sure that drivers will also enjoy the new café-style dining experience.
“This is our biggest ever servo and will create up to 20 jobs for locals.
“We’re proud to provide a locally-owned, independent service for the local community, and look forward to the launch this weekend.”
Mr Marano said the company’s Edmonton site forms the first part of a new Southside Express retail complex, including a carwash that will be operational in early 2021.
“We hope lots of local residents will stop by this weekend, and check out what’s on and what we have to offer the local community,” he said.
“We’ve got an exciting grand opening planned, where people can grab a free sausage sizzle from their Northern Pride heroes while they’re checking out the new facilities.
“We’ll also be launching our Marano’s Fuel Edmonton grand opening promotion called 12 Days of Christmas, with lots of giveaways and the chance to win prizes.”
The Edmonton service station will initially be open from 4am-10pm, seven days a week, with a view to moving to 24 hours a day every day, early next year.
Marano’s Fuel is an independent, locally-owned business, proudly distributing fuel and oils to North Queensland businesses and communities for more than 60 years.
The company is rapidly expanding, and now provides customers with a network of 14 service stations in Cairns, Port Douglas, Mossman, the Tablelands, and Cooktown.
